Meisha Jones

From lunch table discussions and receiving her license to enjoying life in Atlanta, catch up on Meisha Jones' journey.

Questions

Favorite High School Memory I definitely loved to socialize with everyone, especially our lunch table discussions, I can’t remember anything important but I remember talking a lot. I loved all the pep rallies and our Senior Women night. But the biggest memory of all is receiving my license and I had the OPTION to drive 45 minutes to school in my car with my BFFs in tow or vice versa once Tifani got her license. Last but not least, my family went through a transition, and I will never forget and always love my BFF Tifani Allen and her Mom for their love and support.

Favorite High School Class Spanish II, because I loved to conjugate and use my “R’s." I remember I could write better than I could pronounce it. Today, I can still read a little Spanish.

Favorite High School Activity: None, I had no school spirit. I preferred to go home and work.

In 2002, I spent my weekends: I think I was the only teenager that came to the conclusion that this weekly allowance is not enough. So I started working at my first job at McDonald’s near home then by senior year I worked at a market research call center. However, on my off times I spent time with my family, BFF Tifani and other BFFs, going to the movies and eateries. I wasn’t much of a “party girl," I’m still not a “party girl."

In 2012, I spend my weekends: Hhhhmmmm it may sound boring but since life is so packed and scheduled, I do not plan or schedule anything on the weekends. I just do whatever my soul desires…but that does include a hair appointment. I always love time with M-E-I-S-H-A in peace and quiet. Maybe travel when I can, especially this year.

What I'm up to now

Trust me, I am the same Meisha you would remember, but with a ton of confidence. I love the freedom I have to be myself and roam the land. No kids, & I can’t turn water into wine, so I am currently not dating “The One." I am a movie fanatic; I have panic attacks if I can’t go opening weekends. I love spending time with people who will only cultivate my future. I love attending concerts of my favorite new and retro artists, in April it's Chaka Khan. Overall, I’m in this great new area of exploring new things thanks to Groupon.

Professionally, I’m an Administrative Support Personnel at The Kroger Co. Atlanta Division Office in Human Resources/Talent Management. I absolutely love it because I actually use my degree every day and I love the people in my company. It’s a great company to consistently grow and advance. I tease everyone that I am in no rush to “succeed;" my success is going to be a journey because my retirement date is not until 2052.

The bottom line is that I absolutely love my life and the journey it sends me on. However, I am looking forward to “The One” that can handle joining this journey, without messing it up :). But I am in no rush, just ready for something new.
